This is a test of the new Newsletter Submission form. This will allow contributors to submit content for the newsletter in a way that makes it easier for us to publish and send limited snippets while directing to the larger content on our website.
Contributors will need to be granted access to wordpress, at the role of Author (or higher). They don’t need to go to the back end though – they go to the URL https://scoutingnnj.org/newsletter-submission/. Once the contributor logs in, they can give their post a title, pick the category(ies) which correspond to the two newsletters, and then write their post.
As part of this, they will be able to add an image like the one above into their post directly, but that is optional. Contributors will be required to upload an image to be used as the “featured image” on the post page on our website. The 25 word summary (and the featured image) with a URL for the post can be used to populate the newsletter while keeping it much shorter than we do today.
