New Trading Post Opens at Camp Yaw Paw, Adding Extra Fun to Cub Scout Adventures

Families sending their Cub Scouts to Camp Yaw Paw this summer can look forward to an exciting new addition: a fully refurbished Trading Post designed to make every camper’s week even more memorable. Over the past two years, the Northern New Jersey Council has carefully renovated the beloved shop, giving it a fresh new look and expanded features that parents and Scouts alike will appreciate.

The Trading Post now boasts brand-new floors, windows that brighten the space with natural light, sturdy new cabinets, and a spacious outdoor deck where Scouts can relax with friends between activities. A modern refrigerator-freezer ensures that treats like ice-cold drinks and ice cream are always ready for a refreshing break on warm summer afternoons.

Beyond snacks, the Trading Post offers a variety of practical and fun items that support a Scout’s outdoor experience. Campers can pick up basic camping gear, outdoor essentials, and apparel such as t-shirts and hats—perfect souvenirs to remember their week in the woods.

Thank you to the Yaw Paw Foundation for funding these improvements!

Whether your Cub Scout is building skills on the archery range, learning nature lore, or splashing in the lake, the new Trading Post adds an extra layer of comfort, adventure, and excitement to their camp experience. It’s one more reason Camp Yaw Paw remains a highlight of every Cub Scout’s summer.
